Meet Our Veterinary Team
Huey Beckham, DVM
Dr. Huey Beckham earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in 1993. Prior to graduating, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Prairie View A&M University and was commissioned through the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) in the United States Army in 1986. He proceeded to serve in the U.S. Army Engineer Corps, both Active and Reserve Duty. Dr. Beckham completed an internship in Small Animal Surgery and Medicine at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. He returned to the Army and served in the Army Veterinary Corps. Throughout his military carrier, Dr. Beckham served in many roles and deployed to numerous theaters of operations. After active duty, he served in the reserves up to his last deployment in 2008. For over 15 years, he worked for two Veterinary Medical Groups in multi-unit management as Medical Director for the Houston Market.
A native Houstonian, Dr. Beckham is married to a veterinarian and together, they have a 19-year-old daughter. His family also includes an energetic Jack Russell Terrier. He enjoys fishing, volunteering with local organizations and spending time with his brother on their family farm on weekends.
Aziza Glass, DVM, CVA
Dr. Aziza Glass is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine graduate from Cornell University. She is the expert veterinarian for Freshpet Foods, one of the fastest growing pet food companies, dedicated to educating and promoting healthy diet and lifestyles for our pets. Dr. Glass was born in Houston, Texas, where for years she nurtured her love of animals by watching television documentaries and performing her own animal behavior experiments. She also developed her love of music as a vocal major at the multi-Grammy award-winning High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Dr. Glass graduated from Prairie View A& M University, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a concentration in animal science.
Although she enjoys many areas of veterinary medicine, Dr. Glass primarily focuses on integrative medicine with an emphasis on acupuncture and other alternative modalities. She obtained her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) from the world-renowned Chi Institute in 2017.
Dr. Glass has been featured as an animal health consultant on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Good Morning America, the Today Show, as well as in numerous publications including Southern Living Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, PopSugar, Veterinary Practice News, and The New York Times. Previously, Dr. Glass has been seen on NatGeoWild’s “Vet School” television docu-series. Finally, make sure to watch Dr. Glass on the new television series “Roman to the Rescue,” available now on Hulu, Disney XD, DisneyNOW, and YouTube TV streaming platforms.
